In-flight reading – August 2017

In-flight reading August

For in-flight reading this month I purchased “Girl Code” by Cara Alwill Leyba and Breathe and Frankie magazine.

“Girl Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity, and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur” is written by Cara Alwill Leyba a master life coach who has published several books on Amazon in the self-help genre and also runs workshops and events all over the United States.

She is a social influencer and inspires her followers with daily lifestyle tips, mindset advice and strategies. She delivers her content in her own vibrant way.

This book has inspired me to keep going with my blog and business. Reading all the stories about other female entrepreneurs and their success was just what I needed. Cara also writes in a style that exudes positivity, and you can’t help but feel inspired after reading this book.

I would highly recommend this book to any woman who is trying to start a business and needs support from other women. Not only has it inspired me to keep going, but it has also given me some ideas about working with other like-minded female small business owners in my community.

Again, like last month, I also purchased Breath magazine which is a new magazine that focuses on well-being, mindfulness and creativity. This issue did not disappoint, and I was particularly inspired by the calligraphy section as I am starting to be more creative by attending painting classes and have been thinking about doing some calligraphy as well.

I spent quite a bit of time on my flight using the practice sheets, which was challenging and made the time go by faster. I won’t be showing this to anyone though as the incidences of turbulence meant some of my letters were all over the place. 🙂

Finally, I bought a copy of the latest issue of Frankie magazine. I was inspired by the drawing on the cover and the articles inside about native fauna and the illustrations. There is so much inspiration for my illustrations in this issue that I am sure I will be referring to it for years to come.

So, that’s this month’s in-flight reading. If you have anything you want to recommend for next month, please leave a comment below. I’ll be off to Cairns so will be looking for some reading material for sitting by the pool soaking up the summer sun.
